Upgrading and implementing mathematical models to increase nitrogen use efficiency of lactating dairy cows
CowficieNcy is an applied research project that aims to increase nitrogen use efficiency of dairy cattle, which is the best strategy to reduce the nitrogen pollution form dairy farming.
Our objective is to use modern and sophisticated tools and an accelerated nutrition management of the dairy herd leading to improved profitability and nitrogen use efficiency. We will focus on both the replacement heifers, that represent a significant portion of nitrogen pollution on a farm level, and the lactating cows, which is the principal unit of nitrogen pollution.
to improve N use efficiency of milk production
